The Storm is Passing Over

Filed under: Uncategorized — shrmusic at 2:01 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2010

In class this week, we viewed TWO performances of “The Storm is Passing Over” (B day section 3 chorus – we did not view yet because of the internet safety assembly). FOLLOW DIRECTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY! ANSWER EVERY PART!

Watch the following videos of “The Storm” and comment on the following just like we have been doing in class. Please use COMPLETE sentences. You are a judge – ALWAYS begin with one positive comment and then have AT LEAST TWO CONSTRUCTIVE comments. EXPLAIN what needs to be better in performance. What can the students/performers do to get better? Also, give each category a SCORE: 1 being the WORST (needs a lot of work) and 10 being the absolute BEST. What can OUR chorus do to better OUR performance?

Finally, answer the question: what characterizes this piece as being GOSPEL?” What is GOSPEL music?
